Daisy’s big girl bed

Well I am finally moved in to my new place and last night Daisy spent her first night in her own bed. She was really excited at first to sleep in her “Dora bed” until she realized that I was going to my own bed. Then she didn’t want to sleep in her bed. But I finally got her to sleep at 10:30pm and she slept until about 6am this morning. It was a short night, but it was the first night, so I am sure it won’t be too long before she gets used to it. I will take some more pics of my place and post them later this week.

I am moving tomorrow!!!

It is official. My new place passed inspection, and I get the key tomorrow. Yeah!!! I can not wait to be on my own again. So glad to have my mom help me out, but so so glad to have my independence again.

County Fair

Ha ha ha. I have to just laugh at myself. I forget that I live in a small country town in the South sometimes. Last night we went to the county fair. Coming from a big city, a county fair is something you only read about in books, so it was quite a new experience for me. I took pictures, but can’t seem to find my USB at the moment. I’ll try to post those later. Anyway, Daisy had fun. They let the kids play on the tractors and get up close to all the animals that they auction off and judge. And they have guys dressed up in old soldier uniforms with guns and everything. I really think that the South is stuck in the revolutionary war times sometimes. So crazy. And we just had to have some funnel cake. Wasn’t too sad to leave the fair, though. Those animals really stink!

I got the job!

I got the job at Macon County Emergency Medical Services!!! It is part time, which means that you don’t get scheduled to work, you just pick up shifts for people on vaca or that are sick, ect. I figured it would be part-time, so no surprize there. They only hire full time within the company. So, I got my foot in the door, yeah! I have to do some ride time as third person (30 hours), then I have to pass oral boards (go through some senarios with the medical director, ems director, supervisor, and training officer), and pass a fitness/agility test, and then I can start picking up shifts.

Also, the place I am trying to get into, is going to be inspected on Monday. Hopefully it will pass inspection (I am sure it will), and we can be in there by the end of next week.

Now, just need to figure out what is wrong with my car. The starter was replaced, and it still won’t turn over. Hopefully they will figure out why it won’t turn over today.

A place to live….

I have found Daisy and I a place to live. It is a nice two bedroom mobile home with a pretty nice yard. (Around here, a yard is hard to find. It’s the mountains, everyone lives on a hill). Big bonus, it is furnished, so I don’t have to worry about furniture right away. I am waiting for the inspection to pass, and then, I can move in! So yeah!!!

I have a job interview today (in a couple of hours) with Macon County EMS, so cross your fingers for me!

Oh, and my car just needs a new starter. Should have it back today or tomorrow.

If only it were true….

Yesterday my car broke down. After all the confusion was over, and my car was towed to the shop, Daisy and I went to the park. While pushing her on the swings, Daisy asked me what was wrong. I told her that mommmy was a little upset because our car was broken. She paused for a momment and then replied…”I know mommy! We can just call the fairy godmother and she can fix it for us!” Ohhhh, if only it were true. But it did give me a chuckle.

Soon, I will have a little niece or nephew. According to Allison, it will be a nephew, but who knows for sure. Anyway, I can’t wait to meet him/her in nine months! Congratulations you guys!!!

My girly little girl…

My little munchkin is very much a girly girl. She loves to play dress up, play with her babies (dolls), and cook us pretend food in her play kitchen. Besides green being her favorite color, and worms being her favorite little thing to collect from outside, there is nothing tomboyish about her. That is why I think that it is so funny that last night, when we were at a benifit dinner/fair for two baby boys who were born premature with lots of medical problems, she wanted spiderman painted on her hand instead of a flower or butterfly. I don’t think Daisy has even watched spiderman once in her lifetime!!!

My own place….

I am moving out of my mom’s home!!!! I am very thankful that my mom has given me a place to stay and helped me out sooo much while I try to make a new life for Daisy and myself, but I am ready to be on my own again. I just got approved to be on HUD and I have 60 days to find a place to live. I am sooo excited. I could be in my own place by the end of the month. Aaahhhhh, my own room, better yet, my own bed! Can’t wait.

First day of Gymnastics…….

~In her leotard~

~Waiting for instructions~

~On the rope swing~

~She was supposed to be lifting herself up, but decided to swing like a monkey instead~

~Balancing on the balance beam~

~Daisy had an awesome time in her first class and can’t wait to go back. And it was so much fun watching all those freaking cute three year-olds do their thing.

~Job update…..I have a job interview with Macon County EMS (my county) on the 18th. I already interviewed with them in May, but did not have my Paramedic certification yet. That is why they did not give me a job. So I am pretty sure that them calling me back is a good sign.
I am also going to talk with the manager at a grocery store in town tomorrow about a job there. Anything is better than nothing until I get a job as a Paramedic, right? I am going crazy not working.
