Picking Flowers

For the past two weeks now, when I take Daisy to the park, she will play for a while on the playground and then her attention will turn to all the beautiful “flowers” growing in the grass. She will then stop playing on the equipment and go searching for the prettiest “flowers” she can find. Then she will pick them and give to me, or pick them and tell me that they are for her Nanna or Grandpa. Sometimes they are even for her Uncle Chris or Auntie Nae. Today she told me that her flowers were for Barney. (that was interesting) Anyway, here are the pretty “flowers” that she picked today.

Daisy’s Happy Feet

(please excuse my messy house)

I can do it!

Yesterday, while I was cooking dinner, Daisy was playing out on our deck. She started yelling for me to come outside, “mom, come and see!” I went outside and she was peddaling her tricycle. She has had her tricycle for quite a while now, but has never been too interested in pedaling. She always pushes herself around the deck with her feet. Anyway, I took her and her trike to the park so that she could ride on the trail they have by the river. (our yard is a steep hill and the only place she can play is on the deck)

While we were at the park, Daisy also overcame her fear of the covered slide. (you know, the kind of slide that looks like a tunnel?)For some reason Daisy has been terrified to go down that slide for a very long time. Today, we were there early enough that she was the only kid on the playground and she built up some courage to go down the slide. She loved it, and went down the side over and over, until it was time to go.

Well some sad news. The last two out of three of Daisy’s fish died last night. Their water was looking a little bad, but when I checked the water ph with the strips that you soak in the water to test it, the strip said that the water was ok, and the fish looked ok too. I was going to go ahead and get a new filter today anyway, but they decided to die around bedtime last night. They lasted a whole month, maybe month and a half. I guess I’ll have to get her some new fish. This time I am going to buy  some goldfish. They are cheaper and will probably last longer. But I am going to wait until we get back from our trip in WA before I buy anymore.

Only two more weeks left of summer semester, then we get three weeks off. Funny how our summer break is shorter than our winter break. We get a whole month off in the winter. Only three weeks in the summer. But summer is an easier semester anyway, so it isn’t like the break is really needed, just wanted. And only a month and a half until Daisy and I are going to WA to see family and friends, and most importantly meet my brothers new wife, Allison. I am getting more excited everyday. I booked a car to rent the other day while I am there. And I have been spending a lot of time looking at dresses online (since there is not much to choose from here in Franklin) to wear at the reception. Again, I AM SO EXCITED!!!

Well, I don’t have anything super exciting to blog about today, but I haven’t blogged for a while, so I thought I should write something today while I have some free time. I have been taking Daisy to the Rec Pool a lot lately. I love it. There is a baby pool that is 1 1/2 feet deep, so she can touch the floor and she loves it, and I love it because she is not clinging to me for her life. There is a pool at the gym where I work and the shallowest end is 4 feet deep and she is deathly afraid to go into that pool because she can’t touch the floor. So swimming in that pool is not usually a very pleasant experience. So I have been taking her to the Rec Park with a couple other “mommy” friends and their kids.

Next week I have to go to Greenville, SC for my clinicals. I have to ride along with the ambulances there for 24hrs. I am not too excited to go. Clinicals are just not exciting anymore. It is now just a job that I have to do without getting paid. :-( Hopefully it will be a busy shift though, I do not want to end up sitting at a base for 24 hours with nothing to do. That would be so boring.

Well, I bought Daisy and I plane tickets to WA last night. My brother is getting married Labor Day weekend, so we are going to go to WA that weekend to celebrate, and meet our new sister/aunt, Alison. We are so excited to come back home even though we will only be there for a few days. Yeah!!!
