I survived my first week of school!

Well, I got through my first week of school ok. Kind of overwhelming to be back in school, but glad to have the chance to go. My classes are a lot harder than I thought they would be, and long too! My driving (ambulance) class is four hours long! My other classes average about three hours. Kind of crazy. But I like my instructors in all of my classes, so that is nice. The classes are really small too. (Maybe that is because we live in the middle of nowhere, though ;-) ) We had 10 students in my EMS class, but three have already dropped. Now we are down to 7.  So it is a pretty small group.

The hardest part about going to school is definantly not being able to see Daisy as much. I drop her off at daycare first thing in the morning, and don’t get to see her again until just before she goes to bed. Then on Sundays I work from noon to 9:30pm. So really the only day I get to see her is on Saturdays. I don’t know who it is harder on. Me or her. I do admit that I cried three days in a row last week after I dropped her off at the sitters house. I was better this morning, but it is still pretty hard to leave her behind every day. I just keep telling myself that it is only for a little while, and then I will be able to see her more.

Daisy is growing like a weed. We were only in WA for two weeks, but when we got back everyone kept saying how much she had grown while we were gone. You don’t really notice when you are with her all the time, but lately I’ve noticed her shoes getting smaller and clothes getting shorter. She is also getting really good at her vocabulary. She is using two words together more often, and using new words all the time. Pretty soon she’ll be using sentances. Her favorite thing to do is talk on the phone. So I have been letting her call people, like Nanna at work, or her uncle and auntie’s cell phones, and she absoulutly loves it. I have a feeling that she is going to be one of those teenagers that is constantly on the phone. Ohhh, they grow up so fast.

Two more days until school starts!!!

So I got my books today, and I am starting to get really excited about going back to school. I am still a little nervous about putting Daisy in daycare, but I am sure that everything will turn out fine. It is just that since I went to WA, Daisy has become even more attached to me than she was before. It was bad to begin with, now it is really bad. So I am just nervous how she is going to do at first. But I know after a few weeks, it won’t be too bad. I still can’t believe that I am really going to go to school. I am so excited!

Home Sweet Home

Well, we finally made it back home. Boy was it crazy at the airport. We made it through security just fine. That wasn’t so bad. After we boarded the plane, though, that is when it got crazy. We were all in our seats ready to go, when all of a sudden police officers started coming on board and escorting someone off the plane. I guess someone had snuck a water bottle onto the plane, and someone else had seen him do it and reported it. But after they had taken him off the plane, they decided that everyone had to get off the plane so that they could search it. So everyone got off and sat in the lobby while the police searched the plane. Finally, an hour later, we all got back on the plane and were allowed to leave. Our plane was an hour and a half late getting home. But we did get home.

Now it is back to work, and back to school at the end of the week. I am really excited to go back to school, but a little sad too. Now I have to put Daisy in daycare, which isn’t bad, but when you are with someone 24 hours a day, it is a little hard to think about not being with her for 24 hours a day anymore. I don’t know who it will be harder for, me or Daisy. But it will be good for both of us. Just a little hard at the begining. I am really excited to meet some new people and maybe get some new friends. Franklin is such a small town, in the middle of nowhere, it is hard to meet people here. So that will be good.

Other than that, life is back to normal. We were glad to see all of our friends and family while we were in WA, and hope we can come back soon.

Everett, WA

Right now, Daisy and I are visiting family and friends in Everett, WA. It is nice to be back home for a little while. I miss WA very much, but I know that NC is where Daisy and I need to be right now. We won’t be able to come back for a while, since I am going back to school next week. So I am glad that we were able to come back when we did. So far we have visited Daisy’s family from Yap, gone to the zoo with Auntie Nae, gone to many parks, to the mall, shopping, drive-inn, farmers market, and to the beach. It has been lot’s of fun.
